Description
Patrick of Dunbar, earl of March, of the county of Berwick, Gilbert de Umfraville, earl of Angus, of the county of Northumbria, Robert of Tattershall, of the county of Norfolk, John Wake, of the county of York, Robert fitz Roger, of the county of Northumbria, and Brian fitz Alan, of the county of York, have mainprised Gilbert de Umfraville, son of the aforementioned earl of Angus, for producing Gilbert in front of the king at the king's command to do the king's will for the offence that he caused to the king in striking Hugh of Lowther, the king's official, at Berwick, in the king's parliament there, on the Octave of the Assumption of Blessed Mary, in the 24th year of the king's reign. And the aforesaid Hugh has acknowledged in front of the king and his council, that the aforesaid Gilbert, son of the aforesaid earl of Angus, has fully satisfied him in respect of the aforesaid transgression.
