Document 3/21/73 (Moray Reg., C.O., no. 17)
- Description
- Malise, earl of Strathearn, states that he grants, for him and his heirs, that they may not have right to any service from Sir William of Moray, unless it is the Scottish forinsec service of the king which is being owed for the lands which William holds from Malise and his heirs. Malise states that the suit of service, and also the aids of armed horses and armour, which William provided to Malise and his heirs in defense of the kingdom, William granted through his free will by a lease. As such, Malise wishes and grants by the present charter that this aid should not be used as a precedent to exact more services from William.
