Description
King Alexander II to [Walter de Gray], archbishop of York; informs him that, since Odo, former abbot of Dercongal, pronounces himself elected as bishop of Galloway without as is customary obtaining king's licence and consent, he has appointed as proctor Master Peter de Alinton, king's clerk and bearer of these letters, to prevent Odo's consecration by apostolic see, to prejudice of archbishop's dignity; and to renew his appeal with archbishop.
