Description
Alexander, king of Scots, for Henry the monk, who serves God and St Cuthbert on Farne Island (Northumberland), and the monks who will succeed him there, has granted 8s. from the ferme of the king's mill at Berwick, in return for half-chalder of grain that he customarily received from ferme of said mill by charter of William, king of Scots; wherefore he instructs his sheriff of Berwick and his fermers who are tenants at ferme of said mill, that they should see that monks have the 8s. annually at Pentecost
