Document 3/90/12 (CDS, iv, no. 1825)

Description
William Bisset shows the king and council that the gate of Stirling castle is ‘a great deal’ broken, and asks for some money to repair it, if it is the king’s pleasure. He also begs the king to give him the keeping of the sheriffdom of Stirling in farm for his life, by an extent fixed by the chamberlain, paying the same yearly in good faith, without dispute or deceit. [Endorsed: To the first - let the Warden and Chamberlain of Scotland do what they see fit for the king's advantage. To the second - the king is not advised to do this.]
