Document 3/24/3 (Stevenson, Docs., ii, no. 440[*])

Description
John, earl of Warenne, writes to his lord Edward, king of England, lord of Ireland and duke of Aquitaine, noting that he has received the king’s commands as to the affairs of which Sir Henry de Percy told him as to the bishop of Glasgow, the earl of Carrick, the steward of Scotland and others. He will despatch the business as the king has directed. Do not be surprised that he has delayed so long in advancing towards Scotland, seeing that when they parted the earl trusted to have found the bishop of Durham in Scotland with six score armed horses.
