- William of Braytoft, the knight, keeper of the castle of Inverness and Dingwall through Edward, king of England, has received six marks by the hand of William son of Gibbon of Invernairn for his wages and for the custody of the aforesaid castles of Inverness and of Dingwall, which marks were placed in the possession of Sir Thomas of Braytoft through Alexander de Balliol and Richard Heron, chamberlains of Scotland '[specifically] for the wages of the said Sir William'.
