- Description
- Thomas of Craminnan gave, granted and by this present charter established to Murechanich [Murdoch] son of Corc , the whole virgate of his land of Croy (in Killearn parish, STL), which land lies between the land of Finnich on the one hand, and the land of Killearn on the other, with all its just pertinents and its correct bounds, to be held and had in feu and heritage, with various specified freedoms, and in all other liberties, rights and easements belonging to the said land, saving the common aids and army service of the king which justly pertains to the said lands, and saving to Thomas and his heirs the pleas from life and body, and from robbery, within the said land. However, Murechanich, his heirs and assignees may have and possess the escheats of life and body, and robbery, whenever they may arise, or may occur. They are to render annually to Thomas and his heirs two marks of silver, viz.: one mark during the eighth day of the fair of Glasgow and the other mark during the eighth day after the feast of St Martin in winter, for all other secular service, custom, exaction and demand, and for all suit of court, wards, reliefs, marriage dues, doubling of ferme, and everything else which may be able to be extracted or demanded from the said land. Thomas promises warrandice.
