Description
John of Graham writes to his loyal and faithful baillies of Westerkirk, Adam son of Hugh and William Stobb, noting that he has granted to his good friends, the abbot and convent of Melrose, the liberties and rights of their lands of Eskdale by all boundaries. He thus commands that they give sasine of those rights to the said abbot and convent and to the porter of those lands in their name and to remove his sergeands of their lands if those rights are disturbed.
