Description
Thor son of Swain, in consultation with his heirs and with their permission, has given and granted, for the salvation of his soul and his ancestors' souls, in perpetual alms to God and the Church of Holyrood at Edinburgh (Holyrood Abbey) and all the brethren serving God there, so far as there remains right with him, everything that has been donated in the church of Tranent (ELO), in lands, pastures, and teinds, free and quit from all secular dominion and exaction. And besides those things which his ancestors conferred, he gives, grants and makes firm by this charter to the said church two houses and two tofts, confirmed to the aforesaid canons with the said church in perpetual alms, with his sons allowing and confirming all these things.
