Description
William Spurr, burgess of Berwick, for the welfare of the souls of Kings William and Alexander and others, has given, granted and by this his present charter established to St Leonard’s Priory of South Berwick in perpetual alms, one oxgang of arable land in the territory of Bondington (BWK), which land he bought from William son of Moses, lying between the land of William son of Moses on the northern side and the burn called ‘Grethenbridge’ on the south, and entering the land of the nuns called ‘Ffrereflat’ on the west side, and over the lower road on the east side of the burn called ‘Waterdich’, rendering annually to William son of Moses one pound of cumin or 2d. at the feast of Pentecost for all secular service, exaction, custom and demand.
