Description
John de Vaux has granted and made firm by this his charter to Blessed Mary and Saint Cuthbert and the monks of Durham the land in the territory of Gullane (ELO) that William de Vaux his father gave them in pure alms; he wills that Lucas son of Osmund and his heirs should hold that land of the said monks by the same bounds by which Osmund held that land on that day when he was alive and dead and with all its easements and just pertinents freely, quietly, fully and with honour just as the charter of the said William his father to the said monks and Osmund and his heirs made thereon bears witness, with 7 shillings to be rendered thereon annually to the said monks at the feast of St Michael.
