Description
William Wascelin and Mabilia his wife have given and granted and by this their charter established to Lindores Abbey, in perpetual and pure alms, one oxgate of land in Newtyle (ANG), which lies near the churchland of the same villa, between the upper road and the hill, and common pasture, with their men, in the same villa up to 10 draught animals and 30 sheep, and one horse, free and quit from all service, aid, custom and secular exaction. They have also willed that the monks and their men shall be quit of all work of their mill, but not of multure, and because they have granted to the monks, that wherever they die in the kingdom of Scotland, their bodies will be laid to rest in the monastery of Lindores. They and their heirs will acquit the said monks with pasture towards their lord Earl David and his heirs, and towards all men of all secular services and aids and customs and exactions, except multure of their mill.
