- John [II] de Vaux has granted and by his charter established to Lanercost Priory all the lands which William, his father, gave and by his charter established to the priory, that is, a toft and a field [culturam] in the territory of Kingston called ‘Withelau’, and a field [culturam] in the territory of Fenton next to the moor, that is, all the land which lies between the land of Robert Fleming and the exit of Kingston up to the moor, and three acres of land next to the sheepfold which belonged to Richard son of Michael, with common pasture and easements in Kingston, Fenton and Kilmurdie (ELO), in pure and perpetual alms.
