Description
Adam of Heiton and Helen, his wife, in the presence of Master Hugh, archdeacon of Glasgow, and Master Walter, dean of Teviotdale, and Sir Adam of Bathgate and many other distinguished men, clerics and laymen, have affirmed and sworn by touching the gospels that they will not instigate a dispute against the monks of Melrose concerning the land which they sold the same house in the territory of Mow (ROX), nor will anyone else plot to stir a dispute against the same house of concerning the said land.
