Description
John de Normanville, lord of Maxton, for the soul of his lords, the kings of Scotland, and all his ancestors and for the salvation of his lord, Alexander, king of Scotland, and for the salvation of himself, his wife, his children and relatives, has given, granted and made firm by this his present charter, in pure, perpetual and free alms, that part of the land in the territory of Maxton (ROX) which is contained within stated bounds, free, quit and absolved from all terrestrial service, custom, exaction and demand.
