Document 3/350/12 (Melr. Lib., no. 139)
- Description
- Simon of Lindsey gave, granted and by his present charter confirmed to Helena, his daughter, his land of ‘Hungerigge’ which he holds in the territory of Mow (ROX) from Robert of Pollock and his wife, Isabella, and a certain meadow below ‘Ederedesete’ which is called ‘Holemede’ which he holds from Lady Eschina and her heirs, freely and quietly from all service, aid, and exaction. She is to return to Robert and his heirs 10 shillings and to Lady Eschina and her heirs one sore-hawk at the fair of Roxburgh. If it may happen that Helena dies, he wants Eschina, his daughter, and her sister and heir, to succeed her in the land. He conveyed and assigned this land to Helen and her heirs freely and quietly in everything just as the charter of Robert and his wife, Isabella, and the confirmation of the heirs of Lady Eschina of Mow (i.e. Simon Mauleverer and Gilbert Avenel) thencefore have made, donate and testify.
