Description
Ralph le Nain (Nanus) has given, granted and by this his charter established to the chapel of Broughton (PEB) one half ploughgate of land in Broughton (PEB) in free and perpetual alms, with toft and croft, common pasture of the villa, and with all other easements of the villa. He grants and by this present writing establishes to St Kentigern and Jocelin, bishop of Glasgow, in perpetuity, that the church of Stobo (PEB), as its mother church, may hold and possess the aforesaid chapel of Broughton with all its pertinents, free and quit from all action and reclamation by himself or his heirs. He and his heir Richard have established this by their oaths in the presence of Bishop Jocelin.
