- Alan Durward, justiciar of Scotia, for the soul of his lord Alexander, late illustrious king of Scotland, and for the welfare of himself, his wife Margerie, and others, with the consent and will of Sir P[eter], bishop of Aberdeen, and of the religious men of Lindores Abbey, has given, granted, and by the present writing established, to the chapel of Blessed Mary sited in the parish of Logie Durno (ABD), five marks annually to the support of one chaplain who will reside continually in the said chapel, and with the permission of the lord bishop of Aberdeen and the abbot and convent of Lindores, will celebrate divine service for the Blessed Virgin Mary in perpetuity, (the five marks) to be paid annually to the vicar of the church of Logie Durno, half at Pentecost and half at Martinmas, from his land of Kinnernie (ABD). Richard, being perpetual vicar of the church of Logie Durno at the time of this donation, faithfully promised, with the consent and will of the bishop of Aberdeen, in the name of his vicarage accepted this burden. If the payment should ever cease, it shall be lawful for the bishop of Aberdeen to compel payment by ecclesiastical censure.
