Description
John of Crawford, for the souls of his lords the kings of Scotland, David, Malcolm and William, and for the souls of his ancestors, and for the welfare of his lord Alexander, illustrious king of Scots, and the Queen his wife and their son, and for the welfare of himself and his wife Osanna, has given, granted and by this his present charter established to Newbattle Abbey in free, pure and perpetual alms, that part of his land in the territory of Crawford[john] (LAN), by stated bounds, for an honest pittance during his lifetime annually on Michaelmas and after his death, on the anniversary of his death in perpetuity.
