- Description
- Geoffrey Ridel has given, granted and by this present charter established to Kelso Abbey two oxgangs of land with the toft and croft, quit of multure, and sufficient pasture for 1000 sheep in two or three flocks, and 24 cows and 8 bulls, in free and perpetual alms, in his villa of Primside (ROX), and additionally, the common easements of the villa and pasture, by stated bounds, with specified freedoms, except one ploughgate which has pasture for his bulls. He gave the aforesaid to them free and quit from every secular service, custom and aid and inware and utware, for the soul of Earl Henry who gave the said villa to his father and for the soul of his father and for the health of his lord, King William, and for the salvation of his soul and all of his ancestors and successors.
