Document 3/641/3 (Kel. Lib., no. 353)

Description
Alan de Sarcrino, by the will and consent of Christina, his wife, has given, granted and quitclaimed to Kelso Abbey all right and claim which he had or was able to have in two oxgangs in the villa of Midlem (ROX), which he held from them by inheritance, or any claim to any other land within the barony of Bowden (ROX). The monks may hold and possess the aforesaid land in free, pure and perpetual alms. He wants the charter recording his right to the aforesaid to be empty and void, and lest he or his wife, Christina, or any other in his name may wish to go against the donation, concession and quitclaim, Alan and Christina affirmed the aforesaid by corporal oath into the hands of Brother Henry of Lambden, then elect of Kelso.
