- Description
- King William commands his responsible men of Galloway that wherever the monks of Melrose dwelling in Galloway shall enter their land while following the tracks of thieves, the lord whose land they have entered shall give held to the monks and make their pursuit, according to the king's assize of Galloway. He forbids anyone to obstruct the monks while making such pursuit, on pain of his full forfeiture.
