- Description
- Simon Lockhart son of Malcolm Lockhart, for the salvation of his soul and all of his predecessors and successors has granted, and established by this his present charter, to Kelso Abbey and its mother (i.e. the church of Wiston) the church of Symington (LAN) with all its pertinents and freedoms. Additionally, he quitclaimed to the monks all rights which his ancestors or he had or were able to have at any time in advowson of the church of Symington. He wishes and grants that they may have, hold and possess the church with its pertinents and freedoms for their uses in perpetuity, as contained in the authentic charters of the bishops of Glasgow and the Roman popes.
