Description: John of Carberry and Adam son of Patrick of Carberry have established themselves as sureties for Nicholas son of Gilbert of Smeaton and also have obligated to Dunfermline Abbey that Nicholas will warrant to the abbey the whole land of Smeaton (MLO), which he (Nicholas) gave them (the abbey) and quitclaimed in pure and perpetual alms, according to the tenor of his charter
