- William, lord of Hume, son and heir of the noble man, Sir William, knight and late lord of the villa of Hume, has granted and by this his present charter established to Kelso Abbey the church of the villa of Hume (BWK) which Sir Cospatrick, the late earl of Dunbar, conveyed to them by his charter, with the land, teinds and everything justly pertaining to it, just as the charter of the lord earl secures, and that parcel of land called ‘Pullys’ which Lady Ada of Courtney conveyed and granted to them, just as the charter of the said Lady Ada secures. He wishes and grants the aforesaid, in free, pure, and perpetual alms, by the same bounds which they have and hold them on the day which this charter is made, free and quit from suit of court, multure, any exactions and demands or customs. He renounces to them all rights in the church or land which he has or was able to have.
