- Description
- An agreement was formed between Coldingham Priory and Melrose Abbey, whereby Coldingham quitclaimed to Melrose the teinds of the fishery of Berwick Stream (‘Berwickstreme’), and the teinds of a croft and curtilage of ‘le Bernys’ in Upper ‘Ravensdene’, within the ‘Bardykys’ of Berwick, for a payment of 4 marks and one salmon yearly, 2 marks at Pentecost and 2 marks at Martinmas. If it happens that the payment is not made, the prior and convent or their procurator may place nets in the fishery and retain the same nets without any replevin until [the payment] shall be satisfied in full to the prior and convent.
