Description
An agreement is formed in the presence of Sir John de Balliol; Sir William, earl of Mar; Sir Hugh de Balliol, son of the said Sir John; Sir Hugh, brother of the same Sir John; Sir Jocelin de Balliol; Sir Thomas Raine; Sir Stephen le Fleming, Sir Odinel, son of Ralph; and others, at Irvine, between the burgesses of Irvine and Sir Godfrey de Ros, with the assent and goodwill of Sir Hugh of Crawford; Sir Fergus of Ardrossan; Sir William of Dunlop; Master Godfrey de Ros; David ‘Mor’ (?); Thomas of ‘Stubhyl’ (Stobhill, Northumb.?); Adam Urri; Richard Broun, and William of ‘Gowinskey’, who said that all contentions being ended, the exactions and demands having been settled by a certain agreement between the said burgesses on one part, and Sir Godfrey on the other, concerning the tenement of Hormissock, which the said burgesses claimed to have common pasture by right. The burgesses have granted to Sir Godfrey to have and hold the land in the aforesaid tenement, ploughed and unploughged, paying 2 ½ marks, half at Martinmas and half at Pentecost, saving the wood of Langhurst. Both parties have bound themselves to observe this before the abbot of Kilwinning.
