Description
Thomas of Gordon, son of Thomas of Gordun, by the assent and consent of Marjory, his wife, has given, granted, and by this his charter established, for the salvation of his soul and his wife and daughters, and for the souls of all his ancestors and sucessors, to Kelso Abbey, in free, pure, and perpetual alms, a certain part of his peatery which is called Brown Moss in the territory of Gordon (BWK), near that strood which his father gave to Kelso Abbey, by stated bounds. Additionally, he gave and granted to Kelso eight parcels of land which belonged to Patrick Burnard, enterance and exit rights, freedom to dry their peat, pasture rights, and the freedom to build a bridge to the peatry. Additionally, he gave them license to dig what they need from a peatry to construct the bridge. Additionally, he granted them license to take from his wood resources of 'Stoch' and 'Ramail', to strengthen their pool of Kelso (ROX). He bequeaths his body to be buried in the cemetery of Kelso (ROX).
