- Thomas of Gordon, son of Thomas of Gordon, by the assent and petition of his wife, Marjory, has given, granted and by this his charter established to Kelso Abbey, in free, pure and perpetual alms, land in Gordon (BWK), by stated bounds which include a fosse made by Richard Fleming. Additionally, he has given two oxgangs between the peatery of Gordon and the croft of Henry of Hoga. The monks will hold this land, with entrance and exit rights, free and quit from every service, intersec and forensic, and exaction and burden, and every other obligation. Additionally, he granted and established to the monks every donation, grant, and confirmation which his predecessors, Richard, his grandfather, and Thomas, his father, gave and granted as secured in their charters. If he or his heir go against any of these donations, they subject themselves to the jurisdiction of the archdeacon of Lothian and the officials in order that they may be able to compel them by ecclesiastical censure.
