Description
An agreement is formed between the abbot and convent of Paisley, on one side, and John of Auldhouse son of Roger of Auldhouse, on the other, whereby John, in a full court at Glasgow, in front of Sir William de Soules, justiciar of Lothian, and other magnates, gave, granted and quitclaimed to the abbot and convent all right that he had in the land of Auldhouse (LAN). The abbot and convent, with the common consent of their chapter, granted and, by the present writing, gave at feuferme to John that portion of land in the territory of Auldhouse which Patrick son of Neuyn’ formerly held at ferme from the monks. John is to hold the land for his lifetime, with the brewery and other pertinents, paying 6s 8d annually at Paisley, half at Pentecost and half at Martinmas. Moreover, they have granted and established by this writing, that if John dies before his wife Christina, that Christina will hold the land in her lifetime for 13s 4d at Paisley on the two terminals.
