Description
Pope Honorius III to the archdeacons of St Andrews and Dunkeld, and Master John, canon of Dunkeld: Nicholas the knight, and Brother E., monk of Dundrennan, have been to Rome, and their case was heard by Stephen, cardinal-deacon of S. Adriano; the abbot and convent of Dundrennan had been unwilling to answer a case brought before the abbot of Jedburgh and his co-judges concerning injuries committed against possessions and things; the case was decided in favour of the said knight. The abbot and convent of St Mary’s, Dundrennan, are to repay to Nicholas, knight, the expenses incurred since the appeal, and to hear and decide the cause between him and the said monastery.
