- Master William of Parma, papal chaplain and ‘auditor contradictarum’ notifies that Ralph de Helig’, clerk, procurator admitted by special papal mandate on behalf of the provost and chapter of the church of St Mary, of St Andrews in Scotland, had petitioned for an apostolic letter recited here, by Pope Innocent, approving and consenting to the chapter’s requests and taking under his protection the churches and possessions which it holds, whereby Peter de [Vercilli?], procurator of the prior and chapter of St Andrews objected to the same letter on their behalf, finally withdrawing his objection on condition that the aforesaid letters not generate any prejudice to the privileges of St Andrews Cathedral Priory, nor be used in any way to impede the jurisdiction of the executors of the same privileges, which the other party firmly promised before them.
