Description
Prior Thomas and chapter of St Cuthbert of Durham for Rodbert, son of Goze, their clerk; have granted church of Ednam (ROX) with all ands, tofts and crofts adjacent to church and with three chapels, that is, chapels of Stichill (ROX), Nenthorn (BWK) and Newton (ROX), and with all benefices pertaining to church, to hold for his life time free and quit of all service, except that he shall give to priory as recognition 16 marks yearly, at three times. As long as Goze, his father, shall live and shall wish to be in world (?), he shall have custody of said Rodbert and same church; if R. dies before said Goze, Goze shall hold church by same agreement.
