Description
Robert, steward of Scotland, king's lieutenant, to the sheriff of Dumbarton castle, with special love: Paisley abbey has complained to him that there are agreements existing between them and the sheriff of Dumbarton that their men living in the sheriffdom of Lennox ought to owe a certain amount of flour to the keepers of Dumbarton castle yearly for all exaction, tallages, and collections; he commands the sheriff not to take anything more than they have agreed, and to make restitution to the abbey.
