Document 1/54/57 (RRS, vi, no. 59)

Description
David, king of Scots, has fully comprehended from certain evidence that the abbot and convent of Holyrood abbey has been in full possession from its foundation from the kings of Scotland of a perpetual chaplain celebrating continually in his chapel and of the offerings which justly by right and custom pertained to him. Because the king wants to observe this, he has granted that they shall have the chaplaincy of his chapel as freely as they had it under his predecessors.
