Gilbert Murray, bishop of Caithness (d.1245)

Biography
Watt and Murray, Fasti, 78, 310: Gilbert was archdeacon of Moray by March 1207×June 1208 and occurs again on 7 December 1221. He held this office when elected to the see of Caithness 11 September 1222×10 April 1224. He died on 1 April, probably 1245. Watt, Graduates, 414-17: Gilbert had an older brother John, and a younger brother, Simon, and another brother, Richard, who had married Margery de Lascelles. Gilbert is found as Master from 1207×11 and became archdeacon of Moray after 1200×06 but before March 1207×June 1208. He was buried at Dornoch cathedral.
