John Scott (de Monethy), master, rector of schools

Biography
Watt, Graduates, 488: John occurs as Master J. de Monedy, rector of schools of St Adnrews, in 1285. A Master John Scot was tenant of lands of Monethy (FIF) in 1293/4. He probably belonged to the Scott of Fife family. Might also be identified with Master John Scott who was beneficed in Brechin in an earlier period (1274), holding the church of Cortachy (ANG).
