William of Binning, abbot of Coupar (d.1258)

Biography
William de Binin was prior of Newbattle Abbey and succeeded Gilbert as abbot of Coupar in 1243. He resigned his abbacy in the chapter-house of Melrose Abbey in 1257, and was succeeded by William, the cellarer of Coupar. (Chron. Mel.); see also Watt and Shead, Heads, 44
