John of Berwick, master, clerk of Bishop Andrew of Moray

Biography
Watt, Graduates, 46: John of Berwick was master and deacon when he was instituted in 1220 into the church of Molesworth (Lincoln diocese), the patron of which was Walter Lindsay, lord of Molesworth, Fordington and Lamberton. He followed William Lindsay and others connected with Walter Lindsay so the Moray diocese in the time of Bishop Andrew, appearing later perhaps as a clerk of the bishop, but certainly as a canon of Moray 1237-8. He probably died or left Elgin after December 1238.
