Fasti Ecclesiae Anglicanae 1066-1300, ii, 32-36: Algar was a monk of Durham, occurring in September 1104 and was said to have become prior of Durham after Turgot was consecrated bishop of St Andrews in 1109. He occurs between 15 May 1123 and 20 March 1132. He is said to have died in 1137 and 'c. 1138' and as his commemoration is in March, he probably died in March 1138.
