Called Lord by 1264. Called knight twice. Called sheriff of Cromarty in Exchequer Rolls (1264). Witnessed charters mainly in the 1260s and 1270s. Son of Michael Mowat (1246×61) Brother of Bernard Mowat (1263×4) Described as lord of Fern (ANG); gave land in Easter Fowlis (ABD) to his brother Bernard. Gave a davoch in Farness in Cromarty (ROS) to David of Denoon, in exchange for Kippen. (1251×72)
