Bernard Mowat (son of Roger) (d.1306)
- Biography
- Bernard Mowat was the younger brother of William Mowat, both sons of Roger. He was executed at Newcastle in August 1306 for bearing arms against King Edward on the side of Robert Bruce, fighting at the battle of Methven, and killing Roger de Tany, the king's vallet, in Selkirk Forest. He was sentenced to be drawn and hanged, and died without any lands or chattels. (Bain, CDS, ii, no. 1811)
