Hugh de Haketon, master, canon of Moray
- Biography
- Watt, Graduates, 248: Hugh was a Master and canon of Moray during the time of Bishop Andrew. He may be identical to H., succentor of Moray who is found in 1237, or perhaps Hugh, persona of Duffus, or perhaps the Hugh who obtained the prebend of Petty. His surname may be a mis-copying of Hoketon, underlining a Lincoln context, which is also supported by the appearance of John of Berwick. He may be the same as Hugh of Hotton/Hoketon/Houtton who returned to England to be chancellor at Cambridge in 1246.
