Watt and Shead, Heads, 122: Richard occurs as abbot of Kelso on 15 May 1285 or 15 Mar. 1286 and on 8 August 1299 was reported to be an absentee as a rebel against Edward I, who then granted licence to elect a replacement. (NS)
