Image description (obverse)
Depiction of the king seated on a throne and wearing a girdled tunic and loose mantle fastened at the shoulders; he has a bare head. Both arms are extended from the elbows, and the king holds an upright sword in his right hand, and an orb surmounted with a long cross with *knops* on the stem in his left. The throne is bench-shaped, with ornamentation in the front, a rectangular footboard and a branch of foliage on either side.

The reverse takes the form of an equestrian seal with a horse *passant*, with the king on horseback to *sinister*. He is wearing chain armour with a surcoat, and a flat-topped helmet with *aventail* over face; he is wearing spurs and his foot is straight in the stirrup. His right hand is extended backward holding a grooved sword; a pear-shaped shield is suspended from shoulders, bearing arms on a lion *rampant*. A lion *contournée* is emblazoned on the saddle cloth.
